About Rwanda

We concentrate on Rwanda’s fastest growing sport - cricket - which first came to the country after the 1994 genocide. In the months and years that followed, thousands of Rwandans returned to rebuild their lives and brought with them the sport they played in exile in nearby countries such as Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. There is so much cricketing talent and potential in Rwanda and we hope to help provide a platform from which it can flourish. Photo credit: Paul Brodie & Yorkshire Tea.

Why Cricket in Rwanda?

Rwanda offers a genuinely different cricket experience, combining a growing passion for the game with the spectacular setting of East Africa. Cricket is developing rapidly across the country, giving touring teams the opportunity to play local opposition, experience different conditions and be part of an emerging cricketing community.

The country's warm climate and developing cricket infrastructure provide a great setting for fixtures and training, while the wider experience makes Rwanda particularly memorable. Teams can explore Kigali, experience Rwanda's vibrant culture and discover its incredible landscapes and wildlife.
